Your pain becomes your purpose

Our past and learning experiences are our priceless treasures. It is through all of them that we discovered ourselves better and better and were finally able to give birth to our purpose, our career. Sometimes, the breakthrough happens during our twenties and sometimes during our fifties. It does not matter what age as long as we are aligned with our path, eventually the door to where we will make a difference will open. And, when it happens, we will be ready to embrace it to the fullest.

Most of the time, we are in such a rush to thrive, to make a ton of money, to be seen as a successful person that we don’t even take the time to build a strong and solid career.

Being truly happy in our career takes time. For the simple reason that to be truly fulfilled by our mission, we need to know ourselves. We need to know where our passion, excitement, and willpower is to move mountains and not give up on the first obstacle that life will throw at us.

How can we know ourselves better? Probably in the different challenges and tough occurrences of our life. It’s during the hard times of our life that we reveal ourselves. It’s when we have to fight for something or someone we believe in, it’s when we have to stand up for ourselves, it’s when we have to keep moving on no matter what, it’s when we have to keep living our life in honor of the ones that passed away too early. It’s when we fall down seven times, we get up for the eighth time, which will be the good one. It’s when we need to trust even though the appearances are not playing in our favor. It’s when we think we have nothing more to lose. It’s when we hit rock bottom but we still see the light.

All of these experiences will create our purpose.

My past experiences and my sufferings have created my career. And, actually at first, I did not pay attention to my calling. I embraced a career as a PR but, soon enough, my pain called me back to embrace the other path that I wanted to follow at the age of 18, becoming a psychologist. Luckily for me, I got an even better career than being a ‘regular’ psychologist. How did it happen? I followed my heart and its need to heal. I trusted the signs sent by the Universe. I took care of every encounter that was on my path and finally I listened to my gut that was ordering me to go back to school and study psycho-genealogy or family constellations.

Why did you embrace a career as an attorney? Nurse? Teacher? Baker? Architect? Is it entirely related to your own feelings? Or did you want to please someone?

It is crucial to know and understand why we are doing this job and not another one. Otherwise, why would we want to feel miserable and not recognized at work? We spend the majority of our life at work, there is always enough time to finally make the decision to enjoy our work — what are you waiting for?

Don’t waste your time not loving your career. Something spectacular is waiting for you…
