I can definitely relate. After living in China for almost a year and a half, and feeling alert and in awe for most of that time, returning back to my home in Colorado was almost painful. Like something was missing, like the things people talked about were not even real. Fake drama, minor inconveniences, indulged doubts. It took me a while to find a new “tribe,” a community that was dedicated to something bigger and at least aware that there is a whole other level of fascinating chaos that exists outside our borders.
