Creative Barbell Warmup

Coming up with a warm up can be daunting. This warm up is fun, creative, and highly effective way to prepare any athlete for any task.

It’s a Tabata Interval of 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. This is repeated 8 times.

What makes this fun and creative as you grab the bar is you must change the barbell movements every new set. You don’t think about the next barbell movement until the prior is fully complete.

The most common barbell lifts I use are:

Straight Leg Deadlift, Deadlifts, Squat, Front Squats, Back Squats, Good Mornings, Press, Push Press, Push Jerk, Barbell Lunges, Power Cleans, Squat Cleans, Snatches, Overhead Squats

The options are endless.

In less than three minutes you are warm, hot and sweaty.
