When is your favorite time of day?
Late at night. Two a.m., when I have the run of the house, and I’ll find a great silky black and white classic on TCM, which I’ll occasionally pause to wander the darkened hallways, putting my ear to the doors of my kids’ rooms to hear them breathe.
Where do you sleep best?
My best sleep comes in the form of the two or three cat naps I take in my office during the course of the day.
What is the best way to recharge your batteries?
Golf with my compadres.
Where is your energy most successfully applied?
When I have a creative puzzle to tease out, be it acting, writing or some family issue.
Where do you waste the most energy?
Waiting for pills to kick in.
When are you most depleted?
The crack of noon.
What is the last thing you ate?
Low-fat yogurt, granola and berries.
When are you hungry?
The middle of the night.
What was the last thing you cooked?
Microwaved some pasta when I got in from the airport at midnight last night.
If you were a food, what would you be?
A British Columbia Sockeye salmon.
Describe the perfect meal, what and where?
Thanksgiving dinner with Tracy’s family, which always disproves the cliché that there can be too many cooks in the kitchen.
What is your favorite Olympic event?
The amazing hockey tournament that takes place every four years at the Winter Olympics. Go Canada!

Cabaret with Alan Cumming. He’s a force of nature.
