Happy Anniversary to Me 🎉

Time surely flies when you are having fun. One year ago life threw me a curveball and my only reaction was to swing the bat as hard as I could. One year later, I’m still swinging that bat with the same intensity, and I’m not planning to stop.

Ok, at this point some of you may be thinking “What he is talking about? Does he even play baseball?” Yeah, you got me there, I don’t, but telling the story this way makes it sound more epic. I think it is safe to say, that most of us designers dream about having our own studio, but we always think we are not ready, is not the right time, or we end up using our creative minds to come up with an excuse that sounds good to us for not doing it, or doing it later (aka, never). So I’m here to tell you that all that is true. You will never be ready. The timing will never be right. And I’m pretty sure your excuse(whatever it is) is valid. So keep doing what you are doing… or don’t.

Today I celebrate one year from when my journey as a small-business owner started. The timing was not the best. It all happened a month before my third child was born. If it would’ve been up to me, I would probably be on a 9 to 5 job just to make sure I could provide for my family. Lucky me, life gave me no choice and a fantastic wife that believes in me more than I do. It’s been quite a ride. Very challenging at times. Lots of ups and downs. I’m still learning about the business. I have made peace with the fact that mistakes are ok as long as you learn from them and don’t make the same over and over again(or at least not that often). As my father used to tell me, is not about speed, it is about endurance. If you are willing to work harder than you ever have, and are humble enough to ask for help, you should give it a shot too.

Here it is to another year of living the dream 🍻
