You! The Final Frontier

My company’s taglines are “The Future is in Human Capital” and “Building Peak Performing, Resilient, and Positive Individuals and Communities”.

That’s because we are all probably under-performing, under-utilized and overwhelmingly not engaged at work and sometimes in all aspects of our lives. And just like the untapped resources we searched for under the earth. I would like you to consider mining the untapped precious ore inside of you.

Many of us are go-getters gone sour. We went after what we wanted. Didn’t get it once, twice, 399 times and then we learnt a lesson which we hard-wire into our brains as “I am not good at that” or “It simply cannot be done”

So we learnt to play a smaller game. Or for us high achievers, a smaller bigger game. Which means on paper we look good and our careers and family and many aspects of our lives are by everyone’s standards more than adequate. Yet we don’t feel fulfilled.

Let’s be brutally honest. We stop putting ourselves 100% out there. We keep a little in. We under perform because we want to test whether its worth giving our all to.

And that is the first key loss in the game of Optimizing You.

We need to always GIVE 100% of ourselves. Always Everywhere Everytime.

In that New Moment.

Then we can truly ascertain what would work or not. And also if we all did that at work, I promise clarity, communications, productivity and engagement will rise.

Like the huge elephant tied to a small stick in the ground. Many of us have been fooled by our brains and past wiring into allowing our game to be smaller every instant of the day rather than seeing with fresh hopeful eyes for the opportunity to be 100% You and shine like the sun.

In the workplace, we play smaller so as not to disrupt the status quo or offend. However that makes everyone’s game so much smaller. Don’t you see this too? One of my best friend likes to say “Only because I love you”.. and then she goes into a truth or a feedback of me because she wants me to grow. I so respect that. What if we could do the same at work? Shine 100% give 100% have misunderstandings and know its because we are all so god-damned 100% committed to the mission?

Yes. Then there will be fire in the belly. Maybe some fire on the work floor. But fire. Not hum-drum.

Will be lose our jobs or reclaim them? I am not sure. But I am sure you will reclaim yourself and your 100% You. And maybe even uncover another well-spring of gems you never knew you had within you.
