A Day in The Life of a Sentimental Senior: Photo Edition

In the moment, this was something that was making me feel safe. It had just started raining a little bit again after the monsoon that happened earlier in the day and my friend, Roberto, came to my rescue.
When I read the line, “the oldest thing you can find”, I immediately started to look at all the trees around me. But then I turned and realized how much history is within the walls of the Joan of Arc Chapel on our campus — OUR CAMPUS! I think it’s so amazing that something so important to so many people is part of our every day walk around Milwaukee.
The newest thing that I could find on campus was the rain under my sneakers. I’m a sucker for a good rainy day and this picture is my new screensaver.
I am roommates with some BISC students and some Biology majors. There is nothing that I am more thankful for than the fact that I did not have to take Organic Chemistry sophomore year of college. I am inspired by all my science friends and how passionate they are in their studies. Props to them!
My roommates watched IT the other night. Even though I only peaked my head into the living room for 5 minutes (of course, at the worst part possible), I am still very freaked out by the concept of clowns living in the sewer system or anything living in the sewer system. Thus, this is what I’m scared of today.
This image represents my dreams because this hall is where I have taken every single class for Speech Pathology and Audiology the past three years. It also houses the Speech and Hearing Clinic on campus which I hope to work in some day as my career.
I didn’t mind taking a photo of a stranger at all. It surprised me how comfortable I was and how quickly the interaction happened!
This photo is super beautiful (to me) solely because of the TREES CHANGING COLORS. Autumn is my favorite season and I could not be more happy that I live in a place with 4 seasons. I realized after taking this photo that this whole week I’m sure these trees have looked like this but I didn’t look up from my phone or whatever I was doing to notice how beautiful they are. Also, look at those clouds!
Who would have thought that this little FedEx dropbox was sitting nicely next to Olin Engineering the past three years as I walked my way past it every day to Cramer Hall…?
We see them every day, but here’s one upside down! I actually enjoy looking at this photo a lot because of the different angles of the sidewalk, grass and the trash bins.
My freshman year, I lived in good ol’ McCormick Hall — Room 434. I have never felt more at home than when I look up at a bright sky, a pink sunset, the snow falling, or fireworks blasting and I see McCormick standing there in front of me. I am so thankful that I was able to enter college, a scared little freshman, and find my “home” so quickly. Despite what everybody says about it’s dingy insides, it houses my favorite memories.
Moss up-close is cool.
I know there is a time capsule somewhere on campus, but I think that (just like Joan of Arc Chapel) all the trees on campus can tell so many stories of the history at Marquette. I wish they could talk.
This is a photo of Cramer Hall. I’ll never look at it the same because I love this photo and the contrasting textures so much.
Today while we were taking photos of campus that connected with each of these prompts, I was really stuck on what I had learned today. However, as I took my photo of McCormick, I turned and saw this sign covered with flowers and realized I didn’t learn anything new necessarily, but I was reminded of how beautiful our campus was today. I was reminded to keep my head up more and look at the trees changing, soak in the view of Corms, watch the birds fly, and make sure to bring an umbrella wherever I go.
After focusing a lot on the ground under me, as I zoned out for a good 2 minutes (I stopped counting after 40…), I took this photo of my shoes. It was a bad idea to wear white sneakers today!
This was my wildcard photo. That’s my reflection, holding my paper up, waving hello. I thought the reflection of the clouds looked really cool in this and all the leaves mixed in the mud was a good addition.
