Signos: A Comprehensive Review of the Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) App for Weight Loss
A Look into the technology and how it can benefit your metabolic health
Updated: Thursday, January 25, 2024
Preface: This is a long-overdue follow up to my previous article comparing Levels, Veri, Nutrisense, and January.ai. I would highly recommend going back and reading that for some basic info on metabolic health and continuous glucose monitors.
To inject humor, I previously used some literary anthropomorphism to describe these companies as if they were high school stereotypes attending the high school that is Silicon Valley. I will attempt to continue this effort as it seemed well-liked.
If Silicon Valley were a high school, and Signos were a student, it would be a cheerleader — not the super preppy, too-cool-for-school kind, but the body-positive kind who was really smart and in multiple clubs and organizations.
Signos focuses on helping users lose weight, maintain optimal blood sugar levels, and improve overall health by providing real-time data, personalized recommendations, and easy-to-understand visualizations.
The app & sensors
Unlike many of its competitors who use the FreeStyle Libre, Signos uses the Dexcom G7 sensor.
For more information on how the Dexcom G6 compares to the FreeStyle Libre, read: FreeStyle Libre vs Dexcom G6 for Non-diabetics.

Summary
Signos is more than just a company that provides CGM data; it offers a comprehensive metabolic health system.
Though Signos is currently focused on weight loss using CGM as a tool, individuals who want to improve their overall metabolic health can easily adapt the system to meet their specific needs. Improved metabolic health often leads to some weight loss, which further underscores its versatility. The app comes with an abundance of data and recommendations allowing users to track their weight and glucose trends, while the guided daily activities provide valuable insights into metabolic health. Additionally, access to the Bluetooth-enabled Dexcom G7 sensors offers a significant advantage for users who might forget to scan other sensors.
