I like your idea of revenue share, where freelancers can get some dough for business referrals. I also wouldn’t mind the percentage fee, as long as it’s not 20%, like many other sites. From an employer’s perspective, there’s a value gap with LocalSolo because there are already quality freelance sites that don’t charge employers, or perhaps charge them less. But simply, employers don’t know about LocalSolo.
What would really benefit you is a dedicated freelance recruiter/sales professional who would reach out to businesses on your behalf and share the benefits of working with freelancers. That might be an added value freelancers could pay for too. I would pay a small monthly fee to have someone else pitch my services. Hell yeah!
Also, I think some paid advertising on LinkedIn/Facebook would also be really worthwhile, since you’re able to target hiring managers/startups etc.
