I felt giddy on Friday night as I watched fog creep in. One of the first thunderstorms of the year was rolling in. I love thunderstorms even more than I love when snow falls.

Thunderstorms are a feast for the senses. Hearing the soft pattering of raindrops against the window and watching the quick flash of light across the sky is a delight.

Thursday night, a bright flash outside my window woke me up. I smiled when I heard the tapping of rain against the window. I watched the storm until my eyes grew too tired to stay up.

I like to seize the opportunity to watch nature’s lovely shows as much as possible. When a storm came in the early evening on a Friday night when I had nothing else planned, it was an opportunity.

Another thing I love? Taking time to myself to relax and do something I love. Nothing is better than reading during a rainstorm. Plus, I had just checked out an audiobook on Libby.

If you’ve never heard of Libby, I write about it here:
