Actually we enjoy the Bay Island Driftwood Museum from time to time! Bay Island Driftwood Museum Quick Intro

The Bay Island Driftwood Museum opened its doors to the public since 2001 at Kumarakom.Mrs. Raji Punnoose is the curator and proprietress of the museum. She is a retired teacher from Gov.Model S.S. School, Port Blair (A&N). She brought these objects weighing many tons and has spent a large part of her savings on them.Today the Bay Island Driftwood Museum is Kerala’s only special interest tourist destination also which is a great futuristic asset of tourism in India. and, according to Limca Book of Records 2013,in the only one of its kind in India. And The India Book of Records(2013), the only driftwood museum in India that showcases driftwood of various shapes and sizes. The Lonely Planet — Tourist guide on South India says It is worth stopping by the Bay Island Driftwood Museum.

The Museum artwork covers wonders of the wild sea under one roof.Mrs. Raji Punnoose recovered these rare objects from the Andaman seas with great care and at great risk. The artifacts were created and sustained by the sea waves for millennia. They weighed many tons, big and small, collected, improvised, worth millions in international market.

MUSEUM TICKETS, HOURS . . . WHEN TO GO AND

The Louvre is open everyday except Monday. From Tuesday to Saturday the timing is from 10am to 5pm. On Sunday the museum timings is from 11.30am to 5.00pm. The museum closes on 1st May and on 25th December (public holidays).

Museum entry is by pass. The tickets cost is RS.80. Allow 45 min for the visit.
