I’d agree that a simple fetch is not a good use case for use of Redux-Saga, unless you’re already using it for many other things and want consistency.
Apollo is probably a good example of a community-built abstraction on top of Redux. I’d love to see more.
On that note, as Justin linked at the end of the article, I have an open Redux issue to discuss possible other improvements and abstractions that we might be able to build on top of Redux: https://github.com/reactjs/redux/issues/2295 . I would love to have any suggestions and ideas you could offer added to that thread!
