How to exchange Bitcoin and tokens for ETH (Ether) with ShapeShift.io

Investing in tokenized assets on Brickblock’s smart contract platform is only possible with ETH (Ether) at the moment.
As we move closer to listing the world’s first tokenized real estate asset, it’s important to have ETH in your Ethereum wallet as soon as possible (the process of buying ETH can take a few days as exchanges need to verify your identity).
Since you must have MetaMask to connect to Brickblock’s smart contract platform, we highly recommend using MetaMask as your Ethereum wallet.
Below is a guide on how to buy ETH (Ether) with BTC (Bitcoin). We recommend using ShapeShift as it is easy to use and one of the safest exchanges. The steps are taken directly from Shapeshift’s website.
Step 1: Go to ShapeShift.io. Beware of scammers. Make sure you are on the right website!
Step 2: Select Bitcoin as the input and Ether as the output.
Step 3: Provide the ETH address of your MetaMask wallet in the top box (destination address) and your Bitcoin address (refund address). Click on “I agree to Terms”, then click the ‘Start Transaction’ button.
Note: This service is not free. There is a fee involved with exchanging your crypto into ETH (Ether). Please also keep in mind the minimum and maximum deposit.
Step 4: ShapeShift will generate a Bitcoin deposit address for you (this is the address you will send your Bitcoin from your Bitcoin wallet to). Send your Bitcoin to this generated address, being sure to not send an amount over the “Deposit Max” or under the “Deposit Min”.
Once you’ve sent your Bitcoin, you need to wait for your transaction to confirm. Depending on how quickly your Bitcoin reaches ShapeShift’s wallet, you should receive your ETH (Ether) in a few minutes.
