If you just want to get in and drive, then I’d say the Mac is the way to go. Windows has gotten much better in this regard as of late though. It doesn’t require near the care and feeding it used to.

In the Mac laptops, you basically have 3 lines, the MacBook Air, MacBook, and MacBook Pro, and I think the MacBook Air will be terminated sooner rather than later. It’s an old line that was largely replaced by the new MacBook. The MacBook has the newer “retina” screen.

If you’re mainly doing web stuff, I’d go with the MacBook and not the Air personally. The Air is available with a bit more powerful processors, but you probably won’t notice the difference if you’re not doing things that require processor like editing video. If that’s the case, go with the Pro.
