I’ve given some thought to this recently. White seems to in general be European descent with no other race obviously mixed in, whereas the other races can be in degrees. You can be 1/2 African descent and still be black, but you won’t be white. I’d gather this came from white culture wanting to discriminate against anyone with African descent, but the label is also an identity. You’re taking something if someone who is mixed can’t identify as black. Or rather, I guess, they should also be able to identify as white. How do we move past this without taking identity?

I realized recently there are issues with the color labels themselves.
