I’d say the other nascent ‘minting’ approach is through the conversational interface, a la Siri/Google Now/Cortana, Slack integrations/chatbots, or more along the lines you’re suggesting, with Amazon’s Echo/Alexa. I don’t know yet if there’s an analog of this for VR/AR, but I’m sure one will emerge.

Even more exciting possibilities open up if you add flexible integration points like IFTTT.

But it gets really cool when you can manipulate these abilities with some standard metaphors (like newsfeed, widget, chatbot, notification, search, table display, modern CLIs like Alfred or even Wolfram Alpha, etc).
