“Pain is temporary, quitting is forever”.

I was bib number 1533 in the 2019 version of the Javelina Jundred. I was running the 100K (62 miles) and it was to be my first ultramarathon. To be honest, officially I had never run more than a 10K. There was also the fact that I was not getting any younger. I was worried that if not now, then when?

When would I accept the challenge and really stretch myself to see what was doable? Would I finally decide to “man up” and get in the game?
