The temporary blindness introduced the basics of what meditation is all about. I like your thoughts on discomfort as well — our brains are hardwired to avoid discomfort and seek pleasure (or safety). To be mindful and embrace rather than avoid discomfort is the path to improvement of almost any kind. Nice post!
