I wrote a longer and more personal response by email but wanted to say that I am sorry that you were treated this way. It is kind of ironic and intersting, perhaps if your father was a dictator and made a nice donation you could have got into another London School!

I also want to say that this is something that annoys me about the honary degree system as well. I feel sure that if many of these were to apply to the same institutions through normal channels that might have an experience like yours, but that,as they say, is another subject.
