Nice article Angus. We commissioned some user research recently on conference participants to understand their buying process for conference tickets. We had some insight into this of course but wanted to understand more what happens inside companies once someone wants to come to a conference. It turns out that most participants don’t understand what happens inside their own businesses. They ask their managers if they can go to a conference, time passes, and a yes or no emerges.

I guess it’s a case of tracking down these managers and asking them for more information…
