Hey Emily, Thanks for checkout the article :)

Not specifically with Abstract. We see symbols as getting versioned as a result of the project file they’re included on. However, we do have a process for managing symbols using InVision’s Craft plugin (Libraries specifically).

We create sections for everything that is important to our libraries, such as colors, logos, icons, typography, etc..

The really great thing about libraries is that you can link up many different libraries. As a side note, we store the libraries in a new folder we create in InVision called “Libraries” :)

We store the libraries in InVision so that every client can have their own library or multiple libraries and so the entire team can link to them at any time (all stored in the same location across clients and in the same format.

We’ve considered using 3rd party tools such as Lingo but it just adds another level of complexity and we really want to limit ourselves to a specific set of tools as much as possible.

I realize it’s not exactly what you’re asking, but that’s how we’re handling symbols at the moment. Who knows what the future will hold.

I hope find this helpful. I’d love to hear what others are doing as well. Good Luck!
