You might consider the potential for an employer to actually use balance as a recruiting tool. Sure, it may not be an employer’s “obligation” in your view. In my view employers that don’t proactively look for ways to provide opportunities for balance — and counsel employees that fail to avail themselves — are companies doomed to suffer gratuitous churn and lower productivity.
