What does our face reveal about us? Can the future be read from it? Photo: AI-Generated

Physiognomy is the science according to which one can recognize a person’s character and aptitudes by their appearance, and especially their face. And according to some opinions, even his fate! Does physiognomy provide insight into the future? And can this doctrine be used in personal and professional life?

Who wouldn’t want to know the future? Followers of physiognomy are convinced that looking in the mirror can help us a lot. It is said that by looking at our face it is possible to very accurately estimate character traits, health problems, and family relationships. How do you do it?

Past and present

Every human face is unique and different.

“It fascinates with its originality — that’s why people get their portraits painted, that’s why they take pictures,” says Taťána Katyš, a Czech writer and expert on reading the future, the present, and the past.

According to her, if we look at portraits or photographs of people we know and those who are no longer with us, we see a story. We ask what that person is like, and what kind of character he has or had. We are amazed by the beauty of the human face or part of it.

According to Katyš, the human face is still an “open book”, there is still something to discover in it: “When a person is young, it is already beautiful in itself, then in middle age, it is already an art to preserve the beauty, but even an old face can be beautiful.

The life lived is reflected in it.” It is said that the older a person is, the more his face reflects character, soulfulness, sincerity, intelligence, stupidity, illness, and other qualities of a person.

In short, the human face is supposed to tell us how its owner managed to deal with his life. Is it possible to know the past, present, and future from looking at it?

Incredible connections

Taťána Katyš claims that a person who has lived a happy life usually has a beautiful or at least an interesting face, which “breathes” well-being on us, and vice versa: “Being happy is a gift. It’s not a result, it’s a state of mind and body.

It’s an inner feeling that some people have, and others don’t.” The Czech astrologer and physiognomy expert Eliška Landovská (*1962) agrees with this. According to her, the human face is really like an open book in which we can read:

“In both work and personal life, it is very important to be able to navigate the kind of people around us.

Physiognomy helps us to see how the other person’s character, needs, and wishes are reflected in their face.” It is said that we will reveal whether we are dealing with an extrovert or an introvert, with a reactive or rather thoughtful type.

Based on these findings, we can then supposedly adopt the attitude that is most suitable for dealing with, cooperating with, or being friends with the person in question.

Thanks to the knowledge of face reading, we should be able to save ourselves many disappointments and unpleasant situations resulting from a misunderstanding of the inner motivations of a certain person. Does it work?

How to recognize jealous people?

According to Landovska, one can read a lot from the face. It is said that this can be proven by the examples of many important personalities from the past.

A high, wide, smoothly rounded forehead without serious defects is said to indicate, for example, high intelligence with developed intuition and common sense.

Queen Elizabeth I (1533–1603) and Czech King Přemysl Otakar I (about 1155–1230) could boast of such a forehead. The nose of the famous ancient ruler and general Alexander the Great (356–323 BC)

l.) is significantly bent in a place that corresponds to his thirty-third year of life, as can be seen on the coins with his portrait in profile. Alexander died at this age! It is said that there are countless connections between a person’s appearance and nature.

“A narrow, high forehead reveals a very strong focus in one direction, often found in scientists or doctors. On the other hand, squints and grumps are characterized by a lot of wrinkles at the outer corner of the eye, which all point downward,” explains Landovská.

Jealous people are said to flaunt their fused eyebrows and narrow lips. Eyebrows are said to express the amount of life energy, the more pronounced and wider, the more ambition and self-assertion and a certain degree of ruthlessness these people show in life.

“In short, if you take a good look at a person, you can guess what their future will be,” says Landovská. Is right?
