“Getting Used to Isis Attacks?”
I was horrified when I heard the news quoting Kitty Kay of the BBC, claim that Europe would have to get used to Islamic attacks. The actual quote comes from MSNBC where she made these comment on the Morning Joe Show.
Speaking on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Tuesday, Kay said that Europeans have no choice but to accept terrorists murdering their children because it’s impossible to get rid of Islamic terrorism.
“Europe is getting used to attacks like this, Mika. They have to, because we are never going to be able to totally wipe this out,” Kay said. “As ISIS gets squeezed in Syria and Iraq, we’re going to see more of these kinds of attacks taking place in Europe and Europe is starting to get used to that.”
I hope that we never must accept these attacks as “normal” or “inevitable.” It is true that it is unlikely that Europe or the United States would ever completely prevent every terrorist attempt, yet, have the members of ISIS won if we accept such attacks as the norm? Yes, there will be more but these attacks will not be forever. There will be a day when ISIS will be no more. There will be a day when ISIS will be a distant memory and our children’s, children will have to read about the group in the history books?
Get used to Isis attacks? No. We must never accept evil of any kind. We will eradicate ISIS. We are much stronger than they are.
