Are Videos Part Of Your Inbound Strategy?

Videos have long since been regarded as the highest quality content you can create.

If you were to conduct a Google search for ‘how to’ or instructional related queries, you would likely find a video on the first page every time. Sure, Google owns YouTube and wants to display it’s videos, but video content is also what users want. It should be no surprise that YouTube is the 2nd most popular search engine.

Are videos part of your content strategy? If not then here are a few tips to get started.

  1. Keep things simple — don’t get too fancy, keep things simple and informative. You don’t need a green screen and tons of equipment. Use a flipcam or screencast software to record your screen.
  2. Embed On Your Site — You can generate some traffic by uploading your videos to YouTube, but you’ll benefit more by embedding the videos on your site. Your site will convert better and you’ll get SEO value when the videos are shared. You can use video galleries, a resources page, or embed them on blog posts or landing pages.
  3. Re-Purpose Content — a lot of time and resources go into content creation, so get the most out of every piece of content. You could repurpose all of your blog posts into videos and practically use the text for the script. Or you could do a screencast and comment on the blog posts via video.

Remember, don’t get overly intimidated by video content creation, is actually much easier than you think. Don’t overt-hink it, just start creating simple videos that will be useful to prospective customers.
