Some People Won’t See You

#perspective

I’m not the biggest fan of the “believe in yourself” lingo. There are way too many assumptions underlying it that I think are foolish and unwarranted. On the other hand though, there is something to the idea of knowing who you are and being confident in your abilities, even when those whose approval you most desire give you nothing.

The unfortunate thing, is that some people just won’t see who you are. Sometimes people just won’t understand you or appreciate you. Sometimes you’ll be overlooked. Sometimes you’ll be passed over in favor of another. It’s frustrating. It hurts.

Welcome to reality.

Sometimes people will come around. Sometimes they won’t. Whatever their motives or opinions towards you, just keep running in your lane. Just keep bettering yourself. Just keep sharpening your skills. Eventually, it will pay off. As the old saying goes, “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings. He will not stand before obscure men.”
