Project DELTA’s meeting with the ITU (International Telecommunication Union).
Project DELTA’s trip to Southeast Asia had a very tight schedule. On their last day in Bangkok, Project DELTA visited the ITU regional office for Asia and the Pacific to discuss ways to come together and foster blockchain education programs as well as other projects throughout the region. ITU is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies and is in charge of catering and support everyone’s fundamental right to communicate.
Similar to UNESCO, ITU showed a lot of interested in Project DELTA’s data mapping services. They also discussed the possibility for DELTA Knowledge Hub to be implemented as a Q&A service within the UN to facilitate relevant information to the public as well as government officials.
ITU is of the same mind as our project, as we intend to solve issues such as language disparity in the online content by using blockchain and AI technologies. However, before implementing our DELTA Knowledge Hub, ITU mentioned the possibility of co-writing a research report on the Asian region with the aim to work in conjunction with other governments, assess the situation and recommend a better approach.
Given that many Asian countries are working on their own Local Economic Development models, it is possible to enter the local market through cooperation with ITU member countries in the region and propose reliable projects through a credible report.
Finally, Project DELTA proposed presenting lectures, workshops and training programs in the area of Blockchain for Asian government officials and young students.

프로젝트델타와 ITU (국제전기통신연합)와의 만남
이번 프로젝트 델타팀의 동남아시아 출장은 정말 빡빡한 일정 속에 진행되었습니다.
오늘 들려드릴 소식은 UN 산하 통신 및 기술 분야의 전문기구인 ITU (국제전기통신연합)와의 만남입니다.
ITU 역시 방대한 데이터에 맵핑을 통한 정형화 작업에 많은 관심을 가졌습니다. ITU가 보유한 여러 지식 정보가 더욱더 확산되고, 회원국 정부 관료들 뿐 아니라 일반인들까지도 더욱 쉽게 접할 수 있도록 델타의 지식허브 서비스가 UN내 Q&A 지식서비스로 사용될 수 있는 가능성에 대해서도 논의를 하였습니다.
우리 델타 팀이 블록체인과 인공지능을 통해 해결하고자 하는 방향성에 대해 ITU도 충분히 공감을 하고 있으며, 특히 인터넷 상의 정보의 비대칭성 (인터넷 상에 아시아 지역 국가 언어로 된 정보의 부족 현상)을 해결하고자 하는 델타의 지식 프로젝트를 구현하기 위한 사전 작업으로 ITU와 함께 아시아 지역 리서치 리포트를 같이 작성하는 방안도 제안해주었습니다.
ITU와 공동으로 리포트를 만들어 각국 정부와 공감대를 이루게 되면 각국의 정부들이 직접 협력하여 사업을 지원해 줄 것으로 보입니다. 여전히 많은 아시아 국가들이 정부주도의 경제개발모델을 구축하고 있기 때문에 ITU와 함께 공신력 있는 리포트를 통해 각 국가에 필요한 사업을 제안하게 된다면 20여개의 아시아 지역 ITU 회원 국가들과 연쇄적인 사업이 가능할 것으로 보입니다.
