Air Filtration System Applications for Tractors and Farm Equipment

When operating farm tractors and other agricultural equipment, dust, and pollen are inescapable problems. Whether plowing or harvesting a field, storing hay, or tending animals in a barn, somehow a cloud of dust or pollen always seems to appear. Some activities cause more dust than others, but often controlling that dust is a key need of farm equipment operations.

The Air Cleaning BlowerTM (ACB) was developed specifically to remove dust, pollen, and other particles from the air in dusty environments while eliminating the need for constant maintenance due to clogging filters. After removing most kinds of farm and grain processing dusts, without using any filter elements or media, the ACBs blow out clean air to your application.

Air-Cleaning BlowersTM (ACBs) work by pulling dirty air into their housings as any other fans or blowers would. The blower wheel inside their housings then maneuvers the debris in a novel, multi-patented way, using centrifugalforce to separate the dust and other particles from the air. The ACBs then eject the debris and blow it through a shoot and back into the place where it came from, usually outdoors, but they could also direct the particles back into the column of air or the conveyor loading a silo. The clean air then blows out where you want it. The Air-Cleaning BlowersTM accomplishes all this without any type of filter elements or media that need replacement, labor, or other maintenance costs.

Other filters and air purifiers that use filter elements, even self-cleaning devices, often clog quickly and expensively. This clogging decreases the effectiveness of the fan, increases the amount of energy consumption, and requires constant maintenance and repair. In contrast, because the ACB has no filter media to clog, replace or maintain, you can be sure you generate constant airflow, air pressure, and steady energy consumption for ventilating, pressurizing, or feeding air compressors and other equipment. They can also blow clean air into an evaporative (swamp) cooler to keep its media clean longer. Unlike cyclonic systems, ACBs do not spin the contaminants around and have no valves to clog.

Another key feature that can be especially helpful to farmers is that the ACBs can remove rain, mist and snow from the air, helping the air stay dryer and reducing the load on any air conditioning, refrigeration or dehumidifying equipment. In addition, because there is no filter media catching that rain or snow there is nothing that will become wet or freeze up and prevent the air from passing through.

Our ACBs were tested independently at an internationally recognized filter-testing laboratory to prove their effectiveness. The testing found that they remove up to 98%+ of the mass of dust and other particles in the air. The laboratory results show that they remove virtually all particles larger than 10 microns and almost half of the particles down to 0.3 microns in the air. The smallest particles most people can see are about 50 microns in size.

Originally developed to work in harsh environments such as steel, mining, and fertilizer plants, the Air Cleaning BlowerTM can help no matter what kind of farm equipment you operate. Our ACBs are so effective that they are being used today by the US Military in the Middle East to keep air conditioners cool, even in sandstorms.

POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS

  • Pressurizing cabins on vehicles with clean air to keep out dust.
  • Controlling and recapturing escaping particles when filling silos, trucks, and elevators
  • Pressurizing milk, equipment, electrical and storage rooms to keep out dust.
  • Keeping motors and other electrical equipment ventilated and clean.
  • Providing clean feed air to engines and air compressors
  • Controlling the dust caused by sorting potatoes and other vegetables.
  • Ventilating and keeping pollen and dust out of tractors and other machinery.
  • To minimize their clogging and maintenance, provide clean air for heat exchangers, cooling towers, air-cooled condensers, and evaporative (swamp) coolers.
