Maybe the moral of the story is in and around the vicinity of ‘Manners’? Well done you! (For HAVING manners and not shouting back at the idiot who insinuated you were an idiot who doesn’t speak English). I am not always so kind, after having been an expat since age 7 some decades ago…
Or maybe it’s that people should have better manners when seeking help?
At any rate, thanks for writing it. I moved to Europe, in part, for the bakeries.
