A fantastic piece. Drama is something the corporate world loves,being part of the “gossiping” will never help. Recently a coworker told me he’s applying for manager, my side of it was he gossips. If I don’t believe I can talk to them in confidence as a colleague, why should I as a manager?
Talking the talk however I believe can be necessary. If you don’t have exposure, all the hard work won’t be seen. If your peers already have favourites, it’ll be tough to break that. I do believe that unneeded talking is unproductive though and needs to be removed if you want to make a difference
