Imagine what would happen Kickstarter posted a warning before you were allowed to complete payment for a contribution that they would fight any credit card chargebacks, that they perform no due diligence before handing over backer funds, that they do not expend any effort to enforce their own rules for projects, that no one has verified the claims made in the campaign, and that many similar campaigns have failed and the backers have lost all their money, that contributions are considered donations to a for profit business and backers are not considered creditors in a liquidation? I suspect that far fewer people would then continue with their payment.
