Artificial Intelligence May One Day Make Great TV

In his latest blog post David Byrne gives an exhaustive accounting of how humans are slowly and steadily losing contact with each other because of the advances in technology. Many will agree with his conclusions but I immediately thought of the great video programming being created by some of the companies leading the charge towards automation and artificial intelligence. These are the technologies predicted to perform many of the tasks and jobs currently held by humans. Amazon and Netflix are producing some of the most exciting and original programming available anywhere while simultaneously investing and developing technologies designed to reduce discovery, curiosity, and communication. Before software suggested what to watch, listen, or eat humans would spend a lot of time searching. In the process the unexpected and beautiful sometimes happened. I hope technology will help not hinder the human experience.
