Developing Tomorrow’s Impact Leaders

Empathy is decreasing.

Business leaders are measured mostly on how much financial value they create and MBA programs on how much money their graduates make.

Meanwhile global warming is slowing down ocean currents, we’re dealing with one of the largest immigrant crisis of our time, income inequality is increasing, the root of poverty is going unaddressed, and even “developed” nations have massive social issues like mass shootings and racism.

These are just a few reasons that the United Nations has released its Sustainable Development Goals — the#SDGs.

To move them forward, we need empathetic leaders that care about people and our world, not just profits.

I had the chance to speak at SOCAP about this idea, and here is my talk.

In a nutshell, I’m confident that if we encourage each other to keep learning, keep growing, keep pursing new experiences, and use some of our free mental capacity along the way to empower others, then we’ll not only make the world a better place today, but we’ll also grow as leaders prepared to lead responsibly tomorrow.

There’s a lot more to write on this topic, and that’s what I’ll be using this medium for… I hope you’ll join me.
