10. Trading Places, 1983 — $255,142,400

This film is a comedy movie that narrates the story of the upper-class cargo broker and the destitute street hustler that dwells across the paths when they had been unknowingly created part of the elaborate bet. The storyline is usually named the modern seize on Mark Twain’s traditional 19th-century novel entitled, The Prince and the Pauper. The movie earned about US $90 million during their theatrical run in the US, and landed in the category of the top earning film of the year 1983.

Taking place right after the 2007 Shrek the Third, Shrek now has a family and a well-loved man by the local villagers. Craving for those days that he was feared, he creates a deal with the Rumpelstiltskin and by chance wipes out his whole existence. To restore the existence, Shrek needs to get back Fiona’s kiss and love her just before the sun rises or a choice of his disappearance forever. The movie was at number 1 in the US and in Canada for the last three consecutive weeks.

This movie is a fantasy comedy kind that stars Eddie Murphy as the title role. This movie was motivated by the sequence of children’s tales with identical title by Hugh Lofting. The only connection in this movie is its name and the doctor that is able to talk to animals. Although this film was rated as PG-13 but it was still a marketed for the whole family. The film was considered a box office victory despite the mixed reviews from their critics.

Donkey and Shrek team up with the swashing cat called as Puss in Boots to stop her. The movie scored the next biggest three-day opening week history in the US at the time of their showing and it is also the biggest opening for the animated movie until May, 2007. This movie is considered DreamWorks’s most winning films and the highest grossing movie in the franchise of Shrek.
