Gail … ask yourself what is important — the writing, or publishing? Building an audience, a permission-based following who anticipate your regularity is a nice thing. But it can be unfulfilling too if what you are writing doesn’t pique their interest, or they don’t give the feedback you crave. Write first, write for you. Publishing it is a clerical task — cut yourself some reasonable ‘travel slack’ and catch up on the publishing when you can. Focus on what the pencil can do … and put YOU on the page.
