More than just brain-candy …

I came across an interesting quote recently: “The only way for a fighter to get back in shape is to fight his way back.” — Sugar Ray Leonard

Imaging putting your own profession or business, avocation or flailing dreams into those blanks:

“The only way for a dreamer to get back in shape is to fight his/her way back.”

That quote got me thinking about these combos:

“The only way for a writer to get back in shape is to write his/her way back.”

“The only way for a lover to get back in shape is to love his/her way back.”

This reminds me, regretfully, of too many times when I went madly and maddeningly off in different directions (not complaining — those times were not without joys and successes) rather than struggling harder with the problem at hand. I think my aging process has made me wiser in the fights I choose and the ones I choose to lose sight of.

Some days I need a lot to start my thinker in the morning.

Some days I need a spark at mid-day, which I got yesterday . . .

Sometimes I need just a little of each.

Very busy day awaits, must run.
