OR PICK MORE THAN THREE

… anything more than one is fantastic, but why settle for one, or for three?

Thursday May 29, 2014

Three (3) things yesterday:

I did something smart. It worked out better than I expected.

I did something risky/scary. It worked out better than expected.

I did something that didn’t matter much that worked out well too.

Incredible day!

Many typical calls, e-mails, meetings, reading, correspondence — planning, execution, doing more than brainstorming, trusting process, following proven habits, best ways I know, hoping for best results.

Hoping isn’t enough, or is it?

Important things require/deserve higher energy, intense concentration, right?

“Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together” — Vincent Van Gogh

Today, should repeat — pick three (3) things only, get them to work out better than expected. Hah! … I counted — in my follow up drawer (14), to-do list (7), files spread on office floor (11) — and this work day hasn’t started yet …

For everyone stressed with work-load, pick a day when you have a three (3) hour meeting that will, including travel and side-errands, take five (5) hours from your day. Cancel, opt-out or send regrets.

I made that decision at 6:00AM today, sent my regrets.

Yes, attending could have been very important, I might have met someone there who would change my life. Every encounter/exchange offers that. Yes, important, or at least desirable to be there, but not critical.

Now I have five hours added productivity today.

Maybe I can pick today’s ideal three (3). There is a better chance — with 34 things to do, that more than 3 will work out great today.

What are you working on?

Pick three (3).

Give them all you’ve got.

Repeat.

Never quit.

Never die.

ALTERNATIVE SENTENCING

Good Morning Mark — I find this to be a power-muse this morning. I feel sorry for the person you commented on. Having a game of negative Ping-Pong going on in one’s head is never fun (ask me, I know!). That said, a person living in a glass house should never throw the first stone… Glad you are doing well, MK, Calgary, AB …. p.s.: I have encouraged a friend of mine to sign up for your daily message. I think he, like the many of us, will benefit from your thoughts. Thank you many times over for your dedication
