How Much Water is Enough?
The right amount varies depending on you
I love water. I love drinking it, swimming in it and just enjoy being around it, like in the ocean. Although I am not big on drinking ocean water. But how much water is enough for us to feel good?
This debate has been going on for a long time as we all know. It used to be drink 10 8oz glasses of water daily. Then I read where they said drink 10 12oz glasses of water. Then there was another figure and so on. I believe the best advice I ever heard was from a friend that is a nutritionist who stated drink what you feel your body needs to recover. Great advice.
In my post the other day about returning to Disneyland after 53 years I really didn’t get into the health factors that happened while we were there. There weren’t that many, but the ones that did make a difference were the walking and the drinking of water. Massive amounts of water to help my body recover. For this post we are only covering the watering experience.
Now the drinking of water could be covered in two ways. The total ounces I drank or the total cost. I believe we should tie them together so you get an idea of the cost of exercising at Disneyland. For the record I did now know until I purchased my water that the cost of Disney water was so much more than regular retail water of the same kind. Amazing.
To give you an idea of what I am writing about, my average intake that day in ounces was 500 which worked out to an average of $80.00 in watering fees. This included normal size bottles of 16.9 ounces and a few 32 ounce bottles. It worked out to $0.16 per ounce. Now figure that if you purchased the same at home at your local market it works out to $0.01 to $0.02 per ounce. Disneyland is raking in the bucks on hot days and miles walked. By the way, we walked 10 miles which I have been told now is nothing. Well it cost me $80.00 to walk those 10 miles even though I might of loss a few pounds while doing it.
In the end as my body recovered I still was wiped out from the day and my hip (replaced on the right side) acting up. The main lesson of the day was drinking fluids, mainly water in the amount you needed to recover. There isn’t a set limit as my nutritionist stated. Drink what you need to recover.
I did and felt the recovery happen inside my body. I drank and drank and drank as you can see and that helped me to finish the day at the park and also make it to dinner later in the evening.
Enjoy your water.
