Jonas, this post reminds me of a story I would tell students in the entrepreneurship studies at a few colleges I was asked to speak at.

My talk though was about success and the fear of it. The fear of failing at success was worse than failing itself.

I spoke about people I knew including myself who at one time or another would sabotage their success. Basically committing business suicide so they failed.

It wasn’t something I enjoyed or as others related to me they enjoyed either, but it was better than success to all of us. Strange.

Seems to me joy and success are in the same league.

I remember my uncle telling me one day if you’re going to fail or succeed make sure you fail and succeed huge.

That way either way people will know your name and remember you. When asked why fail huge by me he replied “Why Not? It will help you with the next project, whether it’s a failure or success.”

In his words, “it’s great to be known either way, that way at least your a known commodity not a stranger to the world.”

Whether this was great advice or not I listened and repeat this story often. I always let the students know that I have done both and would not recommend it though.

I’m willing to join you in flight.
