I didn’t read the article, but I did see the headline.
The question isn’t whether anyone can touch Lamar but whether he can ever reach the heights of Tupac Shakur.
The issues Pac was talking about back in the 90’s still resonate today, and in some cases are much worse.
Pac was ahead of his time, a visionary for what would come later.
Kendrick Lamar is not. He is of this time, and I fail to see a valid comparison.
When Lamar can write screenplays, act and hold court with stars from every genre in the entertainment biz, then we’ll talk.
There is a famous photograph of Tupac having dinner with Madonna and Sting from 1994. That was the time, the place, and the man.
Millennials, take note, there will never be an artist who can compare to Pac.
