I’ve said it for years, it’s all about using the relevant media or medium to communicate. From painting on cave walls or drawing lines in the dirt or sand it’s what people do to interact with each other.
I was writing 100s of letters every month to people I’d never meet all the world in the 1980’s and people around me said I was mad, even more so when I flew to meet and stay with people I’d never met or talked to face to face.
The golden age some people forget they weren’t part of but want to say now that they were.
Of course it’s the message that’s important that will never change, what should change is people who seem to judge one thing over another and they will be both young and old.
Even quality doesn’t matter, it’s another way for people to look down at others, the message needs relevance for those it interacts with and that’s how we communicate, evolve and develop — not from a set of rules by someone who lacks the life skills of daily interaction on or offline.
In 15 years of ‘business networking’ I have to say business people on a whole seem to be inept at being able to interact with each other face to face and online. Although in their free and family time they cope quite well — why not transfer some of those home life skills into work and then see how people believe those who believe their own message.
No need to demonise any method of communication as long as we are communicating and learning from meeting people outside our boundaries and borders.
Don’t forget Shakespeare who everyone puts on a high alter wasn’t really noticed in his lifetime, while creating mre slang words we use today than anyone else — be careful who you make into untouchable god like beings.
People are people just talk, listen and learn however is best at the time.
