The Koch suckers have lost or are losing that battle. The battle they are indeed winning is to make themselves look like dolts. First of all, Tesla is not exclusively a source of electric cars anymore. Other car makers are jumping on that train, although perhaps not yet with the market-penetration or visibility of Tesla. Second, enthusiasm for EVs is rising. Tesla in fact may have some difficulty filling all its orders. 500,000 people have made $1,000 deposits on the new, middle-market Tesla, introduced with fanfare just the other day by Elon Musk himself, who exhorted his factory teams to work hard to turn out the cars in a reasonable time. Let’s do the math on the public faith: 500,000 orders x $1,000 deposits = 5 BILLION declarations of that faith. And, since Elon Musk is both very wealthy and very credible (you know, like pioneering privatized space cargo and reusable rockets and off-the-grid battery power storage), by denigrating EVs the old fart Kochs give Musk some free publicity, thus oiling the rails for their own fossil-fuel train out of town.

No matter what the Kochs do with their U.S. Downward noise machine, their time is passing. Clearly, Mr. Trump is their stopgap, their agent and pimp, but their battle is annually more uphill and grows futile twice as quickly. The only winners on the Koch sideare the producers taking their money to create such propaganda garbage.
