Powerful concept — push on through!
My maternal grandfather wasn’t given to speeches or advice. When I went off to university, the first in my family ever to do so, he simply said “stick in, son” which for some reason has always stayed with me.
Gary Vee (on TikTok and elsewhere) is entertaining on the idea that we breed entitlement when we give kids 8th place trophies. He also intelligently identifies that we can reduce our sensitivity to criticism by getting rid of our obsession with praise.
A more classical take, which I always try to remember, is from Rudyard Kipling’s poem If.
“If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same”
