Later this week, both of my daughters will be coming “home” for Easter. I am excited for us to all be together again for a few days. After a six year period where I had one or both of them at the university where I work, this year I am the only one left. Both have graduated and moved on to graduate programs in other states. I am so proud of both of them and delight in their successes. However, I miss having them drop by my office or call and ask if I have time for a quick lunch.

For a lot of reasons (most of them not good ones), I missed a fair amount of their growing up years. Having my kids go off to college and join me was a chance to reconnect and make some great memories. I cannot go back in time to recapture those lost moments, but I will be forever grateful for our time together “at college.” Can’t wait to see you both soon!
