What’s missing from this discussion, on both sides, is specifics. Collaborate with what person or group, on what issue, via what action? Even if you want to have a general discussion about collaboration, you need to do more than just defend or attack collaboration in broad terms. If you want to productively discuss the issue, start setting forth at least some general principles about how and when to collaborate and when not to. Absent that, this is much ado about nothing in particular.
