How Has Streaming Affected our Identities as Music Collectors?

I have always loved music. I bought my first vinyl album in 1976, Kiss Destroyer. I have never had much of an attachment to the actual physical copies. When I replaced a record with a cassette, I gave the record away, same with CDs. I have now converted most of my CD collection into my Google Music playlist. The new digital age of music has made everything way more portable and convenient. I know this isn’t for everyone but I am glad I don’t have to deal with the physical clutter. I’ve gone digital in my gaming and digitized all my photos and videos (including some of those old VHS and Beta tapes). I find the digitization of media to be fantastic. But I wonder, am I still a collector? I think so.
