Why does Apple Music change songs when I “Create Station”

I enjoy Apple Music. I don’t loooove Apple Music, but it works for me and for whatever reason I switched from the free version of Spotify and haven’t gone back.

That being said, there is one thing I have always found really annoying about iTunes/Apple Music:

If I click “Create Station”, why, Apple product people, do you change the song?! Obviously I like the one I’m listening to — otherwise I wouldn’t want to listen to more like it! — so I should get my station-based playlist AFTER I finish the one I’m listening to.

As with my first Digital Pet Peeve, I’m sure I’m missing something here. And maybe someone can help me figure it out.
