Individuals with disabilities and their families have the odds stacked against them. The necessary supplies and/or medical expanses some families may need to support their loved one with a disability have astronomical prices, even with insurance at times.

ABLE United wants to make things a little easier.

ABLE stands for Achieving a Better Life Experience, which is precisely what ABLE United strives to do. In May of 2015, the Florida legislature passed the Florida Achieving a Better Life experience act, which allowed ABLE United to oversee Florida’s ABLE program. The act authorizes states to create tax-free savings accounts and investment options for individuals with disabilities.

Individuals can save up to $15,000 per year on their own, or with the help of family and friends. The hope to is promote the saving of private funds so that individuals with a disability can have better health, more independence, and an overall higher quality of act.

People with disabilities deserve to have the same opportunities as others. Through ABLE United, these funds can be used to make life easier, something so valuable that is often taken for granted.
