MARK.SPACE: UNCHAINED! SPECIAL REPORT FROM HARVARD UNIVERSITY

MARK.SPACE continues its global roadshow, increasingly presenting its platform’s new developments and future stages. One of our many important missions is to introduce promising students to AR, VR, and Blockchain technology and the related industries. That’s why on April 29, MARK.SPACE Co-Founder Denis Polulyakhov travelled to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to speak at the MOLD HCSSA Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Summit at Harvard University.

As part of the Roadshow, Denis visited Harvard University to present the platform to the institution’s student association, where he spoke about how Blockchain technology can be integrated within various types of software applications. We always stress the fact that it’s by far not just about cryptocurrencies: MARK.SPACE uses Blockchain to protect digital assets, which within the platform are represented in the form of units. These virtual real-estates are, in fact, the users’ digital assets.

Within the framework of this meeting, Denis held an interactive presentation which included the many technological possibilities, ways of creating virtual spaces, and told Harvard students about the actual situation of VR and AR industries. He also showed how MARK.SPACE is being tested, which tests have already been passed and on which devices the platform is available at this stage of its continuous development.

Students were also eager to learn about the latest and “hottest” developments by the industry’s big players. Especially well received were the new products from Apple, Intel, Magic Leap, Microsoft, and Samsungthat are expected to launch during the next two years, as they will allow even for more efficient use of the many MARK.SPACE developments. These newcomers include a new generation of glasses and headsets. Inside sources mention a possible new form of Augmented Reality technology, where images can be projected directly onto the retina. The birth of such gadgets raises high hopes and are quite pleasing for MARK.SPACE developers and visionaries. As soon as they enter the market, MARK.SPACE will start working on its development and integration, so that it will become possible to use the content of the VR and AR-compatible platform with these much-awaited gadgets.

Over the past year, worldwide sales of VR-headsets have reached record volumes: only in the third quarter of 2017, 1 million sets were sold. Consumers are presented with a wide variety of models, where if before you had to choose between cheap, but substandard and productive, but expensive, now the middle segment is also filled. Together with this, more content appears: video game producers are restarting the known franchises in VR format, which also attracts new users.

The internet is overloaded with hyped projects, which receive a lot of money at the initial stage, but afterwards do not lead to anything. They all follow the same path: After receiving lot of money and a lot of interest, they show lack of a solid foundation, and after a year or two the number of clients rapidly declines. This negative trend does not seem to concern AR and VR technologies, as interest in supporting devices steadily grows each year. In 2016, 150 thousand AR-glasses were bought, in 2017 this number rose to 340 thousand. According to Statista, at this rate in 2020, people will buy 10.8 million such glasses, a number that will rise to 23 million by 2022. The popularity of Pokemon Goshowed that such a scale is quite possible.

Facebookis also working on the introduction of VR. Mark Zuckerberg said that the future is behind light glasses that project “extra” objects on the real world. Anticipating the trend, Zuckerberg bought Oculus VR back in 2014 for $ 2.3 billion. All around were sure that he wildly overpaid, but now VR glasses are among the most promising technologies. Snapchatis moving in a similar direction. A year ago, in November 2016, the company released smart-glasses called Spectacles, which have the ability to record what the person sees, sending clips to their friends.

After sharing these (and other) amazing, new industry trends, Denis established productive relations with some of Harvard’s students, and also had meetings with students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is, incidentally, located just a few blocks away from Harvard. As the potential associates exchanged information of technical nature, Denis shared the idea that MARK.SPACE will consider the possibility of hiring some of these students as employees. MARK.SPACE considers informative communication and interaction with students from world’s leading universities to be crucial, as they are the representatives and future developers of high-tech companies. This is the main reason why we should raise their interest in the Blockchain, VR, and AR industries. It is of great importance to explain how promising these industries are for lifetime careers and how they can benefit our future on this planet as a whole. We’re sure of one thing: these bright minds will definitely be able to find excellent applications for their knowledge in this or a related VR, AR, or software industry and will develop it even further (even if they decide not to apply it for the benefit of the MARK.SPACE platform).

The Summit was attended by various representatives of companies from diverse backgrounds, including government, financial institutions, healthcare companies, blockchain technology startups as well as cryptocurrency-related firms. They all provided different perspectives on the cutting-edged and fresh technology industrial application, in sectors such as finance, healthcare, global payment and governance etc. Speakers shared interesting facts about the Blockchain industry and its up-to-date market situation, as well as new types of Blockchain and the legal matters that come to light.

As a side note, On May 12th, 2018, Columbia University (NY) will host the much anticipated CryptoASIA Summit, a major Blockchain event that MARK.SPACE is proud to co-sponsor. Denis Polulyakhov will speak on behalf of our platform and will take part in the panel discussion: “The Blockchain Technology and Use cases”. We are excited and hope for the same positive reactions MARK.SPACE received in Harvard.
