Want to be More Productive? Do This Today!

Making the choice to become productive is one thing.
Actually doing what needs to be done? Completely different!
Let’s be honest: everyone would like to be in perfect health, but few are willing to do the work they need to in order to achieve that.
Rut roh. I just said a bad word: work.
Oooooooooooooo!
Yes, I did. But nothing worth anything comes without work.
I have good news for you
If you are willing to do the work — what I will teach you below and elsewhere on my blog, you will become more productive than you ever have been. While I can’t legally guarantee results, I can tell you that what I teach works.
How do I know? Because I do all that I teach and am very productive.
Three things you need to pay attention to
In order to become uber productive, you need to get healthy physically, emotionally and spiritually. Think of these three things like spokes on a wheel or strings on a guitar. If any of the spokes are out of alignment, the wheel will wobble. If the strings are not tuned, it may resemble something like music, but not good music.
Let me break this all down for you.
Getting healthy: PHYSICALLY
Being productive takes energy. And stamina. If you find yourself easily fatigued or constantly needing breaks, chances are good that you are not healthy physically.
I understand that you are busy. Who isn’t? But if all you do is work, work, work — burn the candle at both ends — your performance and your dreams will suffer.
While I am not a health care professional, I don’t think I am going out on a limb here by stating that you need to exercise to help you stay healthy.
You need to move.
You don’t have to ride a bike or run like I do. You can take a walk (without your beloved dog so you can keep moving instead of stopping every 5 feet), swim or whatever gets you moving.
If you have any health issues, please consult your physician first.
But do something physical. You need to move.
Getting healthy: EMOTIONALLY
In today’s busy, busy, busy world…we rarely take time for ourselves. We are always on the go. As a result, we get agitated, angry, short-tempered, frustrated, impatient, depressed, etc.
I’m sure you can relate.
It’s difficult if not impossible to be productive if you are not emotionally healthy.
So what can you do?
Here are some ideas:
- Listen to your favorite music (maybe not if your favorite music is heavy metal)
- Go for a slow walk and enjoy your surroundings (put your iPhone in your pocket so you can hear the birds chirp, smell the flowers)
- Go on a date with your spouse (something married couples tend to stop doing once they say “I do”) or, if you’re not married, a good friend
- Play with your kids or your dog (wait…isn’t that the same thing? Wait for it…)
- This may sound hokey, but think happy thoughts
- Be thankful for what you have (when’s the last time you did this?!)
Getting healthy: SPIRITUALLY
I am not here to push my beliefs on you. That’s not my purpose here. But I hope you at least understand that our world is not all there is. There is something much larger than us…whatever you choose to call it.
Ensuring your spiritual health is just as important as your emotional and physical health.
What does this mean to you?
Maybe it means you need to:
- make time to read your Bible or book your belief system has
- pray
- meditate
- just be silent (when’s the last time you were silent?)
Whatever it is you feel compelled to do, I encourage you to make it a priority.
Bringing it all home
When I write, coach or speak, I usually tell my audience to pick one strategy I teach, master it and then pick another one.
But that doesn’t apply here.
You can’t pick to work on either your physical, emotional or spiritual health.
Remember the spokes on a wheel or strings on a guitar.
You MUST work on ALL three areas.
Yes, it will take time and work and will not always be easy.
But yes, it will be worth it. Oh will it ever!
Thanks for reading! :) If you enjoyed it, hit that heart button below. It would mean a lot to me and it helps other people see the story.
